„Für eine solidarische und starke Zivilgesellschaft in Brandenburg“

In den vergangenen Wochen und Monaten haben sich die Debatten um Flucht, Migration und Integration bundesweit und so auch in Brandenburg deutlich verschärft . Ganz aktuell liegen die Umfragewerte der AfD bei 32%. Und auch vonseiten der regierenden Koalition wird sich zunehmend an rechtspopulistischen Narrativen bedient und gegen Geflüchtete gehetzt. Diese zunehmend aufgeheizte Stimmung kommt nicht von ungefähr, denn im kommenden Jahr steht in Brandenburg einiges auf dem Spiel: Neben Europa- und Kommunalwahlen im Juni stehen im September Landtagswahlen an.
Mit Blick auf zivilgesellschaftliches Engagement, die diesen zunehmenden Ausgrenzungs- und Abschottungstendenzen etwas entgegen setzen will, haben wir uns bereits vor zwei Monaten mit brandenburgischen Willkommensinitiativen über ihre Arbeit für eine menschenwürdige Aufnahme und Unterbringung für Schutzsuchende ausgetauscht.
Auf Ende November laden wir Geflüchteten-Selbstorganisationen, Willkommensinitiativen, Vereine und lokale Initiativen, die mit ihrer wichtigen Arbeit die zivilgesellschaftliche Landschaft Brandenburgs prägen, erneut ein, in einem Austauschraum folgende Fragen zu diskutieren:
Welche konkreten Ideen existieren bereits, um gemeinsam für ein demokratisches und weltoffenes Brandenburg zu kämpfen? Welche Ideen für konkrete Schritte und Maßnahmen gibt es, um sich gegenseitig für das Superwahljahr 2024 zu stärken?
Die Veranstaltung findet auf Deutsch und Englisch statt.

„For a strong civil society in solidarity in Brandenburg“

In the past weeks and months, debates about refugees, migration and integration have intensified throughout Germany, including in Brandenburg. The AfD is currently polling at 32%. The ruling coalition is also increasingly using right-wing populist narratives and inciting hatred against refugees. This increasingly heated mood is no coincidence, as there is a lot at stake in Brandenburg in the coming year: In addition to European and local elections in June, state elections are due in September.
Two months ago, we already met with welcome initiatives in Brandenburg to discuss their work for the humane reception and accommodation of people seeking protection.
At the end of November, we are once again inviting refugee self-organizations, welcome initiatives, associations and local initiatives, whose important work shapes the civil society in Brandenburg, to discuss the following questions in an exchange room:
What concrete ideas already exist to fight together for a democratic and cosmopolitan Brandenburg? What ideas for concrete steps and measures are there to strengthen each other for the super election year 2024?
The event will be held in German and English.
